This bouquet was made entirely of hand-made gum paste flowers. The flowers included hydrangea, stephanotis, roses, and calla lilies.

You can do it! If you need help, get one of Nick Lodge's DVDs. Even if the stargazer isn't on the DVD, it'll explain how to individually wire each petal, color it, etc.

I honestly would have thought they were real flowers. I am making two cakes for december and one will have stargazer lilies on it. Kinda scared but I figure I need to just jump in give it a try. Thanks for the info about the recipe.

I made this bouquet for the 2009 ICES convention so I made the flowers about a month in advance and colored them with petal dust. I have the bouquet in a football display case now, and it still looks just like this. The colors haven't faded or anything...and it's over a year old! I can't believe it! Oh, and I made Nicholas Lodge's gum paste recipe. :)

How long do you do your flowers in advance. They are beautiful. Also, did you make the gum paste or buy it already made. Georgous work!!
