Who woulda guessed?!  I too just found out about 'pure white buttercream, fondant, & gumpaste' about 7 months ago.  And I just completed my first Wilton Class, and am to start my second tonight @ Salisbury.  You 2 make a terrific team!

About 2 months ago I made a 4 tier wedding cake, Square on bottom, then petal, then round, with the heart on top.  She said 'no fondant', so all was buttercream.  It looked good, UNTIL she said she wanted it decorated with black & red, and NO flowers.  I would not do it, so she sent someone to decorate it, & then it was all downhill from there--ruined!  The wedding was to be at a race track!  If it had not been family, I would not have let them have it... buttercream outdoors in the middle of summer, with a 2 hr. drive in the car to get there.  Use your imagination.  I did not go.  That was one heavy cake, with all tiers in place before they picked it up.

Hi Bonnie. Thank you for the very kind words and compliments. I've only been doing this for about a year and this wedding cake WAS really my first :) the 2D sugar diamonds are just the diameter of the diamonds so they are smaller but are made of sugar and look like diamonds. Google search them but they are available at most cake supply stores.

The other cakes have all been done in the last month. My sister and I do these cakes together. She is amazing with buttercream and the whole baking thing and I like to think I'm pretty good with the fondant and gum paste work ;)

I'm self taught and have only taken the first two Wilton classes and about to do the third class next month.

I love your work too. Simply amazing.

Again thank you for the lovely comments

After visiting your site, I can tell you are into detail!  These are all exquisite.  I am new to all this, so what are 2D sugar diamonds, where can I get hold of some?  Would love to try a cake like this one!!  First wedding cake?- hard to believe, for you are no novice with these to go by.
