Thanks for explaining how you did this, Goreti. I have never done any kind of stencil, so it didn't enter my mind. I didn't see the lace until you explained. I know the cake board can take as lone as the cake, but it also sets a beautiful stage.
I bought some small paper doilies at the dollar store. I then cut them in half and taped them on the board. Mixed red petal dust with vodka making a thick almost paste like and brushed it on the cut outs of the doilies. Waited till it dried and removed them. You would not believe the amount of time I worked on that board. I also sewed by hand the red ribbon along the top of some lace before glueing it to the board. My sewing machine isn't working very well so didn't want to deal with it.
