I wanted to play around with several techniques so this is a simple cake I did for Easter. All buttercream :)

Thank you soo much! I previously used viva towels or a hot spatula to smooth buttercream, but based on feedback I received from Sugar Pixy, I used a hot spatula, viva towels and computer paper to achieve the sides. I'm really awful with impression mats! So I piped over it to give it that gabled look!
Hey Faith, I love the smoothness of your BC, I now have bc envy....lol. How did you get your sides so even was it an impression mat?
Faith what is Sugar Pixy's Buttercream Tropical? I do use Hi ratio like it better than crisco..
My regular bc frosting is butter, shortening, flavouring and powdered sugar. For this particular cake, I used my bc as the filling and used a different bc to ice it. To ice it I used Sugar Pixy's Buttercream Tropical with hi-ratio shortening, water, flavouring, and powdered sugar. This one can really stand up to the island heat.
What do you put into your buttercream frosting?
