Henna and Peacocks Wedding Cake-close-up 1 of 4

The silver band is fondant made from a mold I made. I piped a tiny dot of piping gel mixed with pearl luster dust into each depression. It was a cool result, hard to see it in the photo. There is a border of gems at the bottom. The flowers were thicker than I would have liked but I had no time and used a Wilton mold to whip out as many as I could. They give just enough color to the cake. The curved lines are royal icing with a small amount of cocoa powder for the color. I could not get the color any other way. I piped it on then used a very dry damp brush to flatten the piping. Piping gel was used in the center of the flowers and the gems on the side of the cake. Wish I had time to make them out of sugar.
