Found them - I'm pretty sure it was this person. Although they haven't been on the site for some time now.
Your next challenge sounds like real fun Becky - you can do that, no problem. I've used modelling chocolate a couple of times and it's easier to work with that gumpaste as it's so much more pliable and doesn't crack. I buy it ready made as I don't use it much. There is someone in this group (can't remember who), who uses modelling chocolate for all their stuff pretty much and the things they produce are amazing!
Oh, go on! It's CHOCOLATE, so it's gotta taste good! lol Some only use ganache/chocolate to do their cakes, even under fondant, think it is Australia where they all do it like that. Anyway, they claim it tastes much better than regular frosting, and I'm a believer! Like Betty, I also thought you had made the horse. You are quite capable of it. Bet your cartoon type version would look excellent too!
I guess I need to make some before a cake is due and figure it out. Does it taste better? Has anyone tasted it??
Shawna McGreevy, McGreevy Cakes, uses modeling chocolate for everything and she has a "fool proof" recipe on her site.
Love her too. I've never used modeling chocolate. Keep meaning to try but never have. Didn't help that the first time I made modeling chocolate it was a mess.
There are some realistic ones on here http://www.lovelytutorials.com/forum/showthread.php?t=460. This site is tricky though. Sometimes you can get on and sometimes you can't.
