Peace cake for my grand daughters 8th birthday...I wasn't very pleased with it visually but the cake was great, inside the 1st layer was pink & white striped, the 2nd was pink confetti and the top layer was rainbow marble. Pink buttercream frosting & MMF.

Thank you Patti,

the braiding on this one was rainbow licorice laces but when the air gets to them they get brittle and break, now I use a clay extruder to make fondant laces...I find it works great.

I found that trying to cover the cut out & keep it looking clean was a bit of a challenge...I tried to cover it all in one piece but of course that didn't work well.

Thanks again, good luck with your peace sign...look forward to see the pics :)

I think your cake is very nice and I love the braiding. How did you get the strands of MMF so uniform in size?  I have tried to
make them by hand for a Woody cake and it didn't work. Also I have been thinking about making a peace cake for a coworkers birthday. I was concerned about the cut out and did a rainbow cake instead. You have inspired me to try my hand a peace next time.  Thanks
