Nyan Cat Birthday Cake

I just finished making my cake and took the photo hence the mess around it. I haven't made too many cakes. Under 10 for sure. This was the very latest one I made sometime during the summer. A friend of mine asked for me to make it for HIS friends birthday. They have this running joke about an online cat named Nyan Cat - it's a pop tart cat that flies using rainbow magic or something.

I was in a hurry so I used cake mix and store bought icing for the filling. I make my own marshmallow fondant and this was the first time I used rice crispy treats for anything. The head and tail are rice crispy.
