No...I need to invest in one of those. I have a few different sized of pyrex bowls that do the trick, for this one I used the medium bowl and put it on top of an 8" round (the cake ends up being 5 layers). I trimmed the 8" a little to make it blend in with the bowl shape.

Hi Barb, I used 3 - 8" round pans to make the bottom. I waited until the buttercream was crusted and pressed a 3/8" square dowel into it at even intervals to make it look like a cupcake paper.

After I put the buttercream on, I let it sit for about 45min-1hr and get a slight crust on it. Then use a non-printed Viva paper and fondant smoother to smooth out all of the lines. (I have used others brands and also used freezer paper, and found viva works the best). If the towel starts sticking, it has absorbed too much grease, and you will need to get a new one. There are some great You-tube videos on the technique...I am just starting out too.

How did you get the buttercream to look so neat and polished? I'm just starting out and always have to use fondant; I can never get buttercream to look nice!
