Thank you June and Timothy, I was worried it was too 'wedding-y" after I had it finished. :/ It was one of those requests where you sit and think : 'now how the heck am I going to do that?!?'  ~ I'm so glad you like it :)

Being a church musician I'm infiltrated with funerals all the time... and often at the "funeral lunch"... after all the ceremonial stuff is over... there's often cake... not to strange... BUT this cake at a "Funeral" would definitely take the CAKE... so to say... I LOVE it!!!

Me either.  Yours is pretty & understated. Perfect for this type of occasion. I mean, eveyone has their own interpretation on funerals....sad & somber.....or a celebration of a life. You would have to know which way they were thinking so as not to make a cake "bright & cheery"  so as not to offend.

Lovely job Melanie

Thank you so much! ~ I have to admit I was at a loss when asked to do a cake for a funeral, I had never heard of such a thing ;)
