Fondant Fetish - Rose & Butterflies on hotel cake in Turkey :)

Well guys, here it is. My roses and butterflies in Turkey and placed by the hotel chef onto a two tier cake. They did a pretty good job, but the slight tear in the fondant on the bottom tier is something that would drive me mad if I was there. I'm pretty pleased with what they did and my client was over the moon too. Phew. I'll post some pictures of the cake in daylight as the butterflies should sparkle nicely under the Turkish sunshine.

Oh, & he smashed the first rose that came out of the box too. Glad I wasn't there. Lol

Just small update from my client on the cake. Apparently it was a really heavy sponge (like a stodgy pudding) and the chef at the hotel said 'No Buttercream!!!!' she asked him to arrange the roses cascading big at top down to small with butterflies scattered amongst flowers and he said 'I do this, not you'. He made the Fondant the wrong colour and then put it in a very cold fridge so when it came out there was massive amounts of condensation. When she tried to complain to him all of a sudden he didn't speak English. Im just so pleased he wasn't anything to do with me. My job finished with the roses being boxed up - but I did care about the final result. The bride was pleased with the way it looked for her photo's so I guess that was good. Thanks everyone for your comments and for liking it :) xx

Tracy, it is beautiful! I wonder why they didn't cover that spot with the flowers, unless there was another tear bigger and they had to cover that instead. I'm with you...it would have driven me nutty! It doesn't matter though...it is stunning!

Thank you Karen - must admit I am glad it got to the cake stage. I was half expecting Turkish customs to have swiped them :)
