My brother is a huge frog fan and for his engagement party I made his cake. He asked that he was portrayed as a frog offering his new Fiancee (aka Googleybear lol) an engagement ring (all edible). I was pretty pleased with how it turned out - my hands killed me making every inch of this one.
Hope you like it :)

You know Tracy. My Mom made vanilla sponge with raspberry jelly. My sisters and I loved it, but Dad wasn't so keen. I actually searched for her recipe amongst her cookbooks, & recipes that I got after she died. Fruitcake was their but no sponge!!! Could message/email me your recipe please? I would so very much appreciate it. :0)

Thank you for your lively comments :) This was five thin layers of vanilla sponge and each layer I had coloured a shade of apricot going from light to dark. Sandwiched with buttercream and raspberry preserve. Didn't get to see it cut as we had to leave at 8pm to get the kids to bed :( I did get a few orders on the back of it though, so I'm guessing it was a success.

Thanks so much Laurie - I forgot to say that the frog is ballanced by prayer and that tiny wire around his leg alone. I didn't know quite how to attach him so I popped him on the side and there he stayed. Kept going to check on him throughout the party expecting to find a smashed frog and he stayed on his feet all night. One of the few party goers who did lol. x
