Here is the cake I made for our street party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Everything is edible, including the figure of the Queen which was just flowerpaste. I used Windsor Castle as inspiration for the castle tower that makes the cake.
I donated this as a raffle prize & it was received really well.
Just a shame it rained the whole day :(

Oh funny funny! I see exactly what she is doing, it's a kind of TADA moment, chuckle.

Omg I have just laughed so hard at your comment. She does look like she's been shackled to the castle from this angle - that's sooooo funny. I'll have to post a couple more photos at different angles. She was supposed to look like she's releasing the butterflies and presenting her castle. Maybe I should have done the Tower of London - looks like she's off to traitors gate. Giggle giggle x

Tracy, a compliment I promise you!  It was the concept of the whole tableau that made me laugh - you have such a great imagination.  I do have to admit that, just for a second, I thought her bracelet was a chain attached to Windsor, which made me laugh even more.  Your butterflies are really cool btw you have the Union Jack perfectly on them

And don't forget every long bank holiday weekend :) at least the garden gets watered with our (ha ha) hosepipe ban!
Thanks for laughing at Liz - I think. Hubby didn't want me spending untold hours on the cake itself as it was a giveaway, so Windsor castle didn't have the se level of attention lavished on it as the Queen. I should have done a whirlwind of butterflies with the Queen rising from the centre of it. Maybe for her platinum jubilee lol.

Ah Tracy bless - this is wonderful.  I burst out laughing as soon as I saw it, fantastic.  I'm so sorry it rained on you on your party day.  This country is something else isn't it?  There's a switch somewhere you know that a goblin throws everytime we need a really nice day (oh yes and on Friday nights and Monday mornings....)
