Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

A 40th birthday cake - the lady has 4 cats and I tried to replicate their markings for this one. I also tried the marbling technique video of Julie's and it worked a treat (although for wood effect I think I chose the wrong colours, but I like the effect).

Thank you so much Michael, I loved making this cake. The patchwork cutters for the quilt were fun to use. I've used them for baby blankets too and looked lovely in blue and yellow sugar paste.
I've got lots of cakes to add - had a bit of a break from adding photos, too busy making cakes lol :)

Oh Linda, I forgot to say that I added the squares to the fondant after I'd draped it over the cake. I think by the time I'd have added my last square it would have dried if I'd done it flat. Tx
