Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

My client wanted a cake for her Grandmother who was turning 95 years old on the 19th November 2011. I thought I'd be making a cake full of flowers and butterflies, but it turns out she's a huge fan of Arsenal Soccer football team - a real 'Gooner', so a shirt was requested for her party. lol. I put her name and age on the shirt, then to try to make it a little more feminine I sprinkled some glitter onto the grass surrounding it. It went down well with the lady who ordered it. Wonder what Alice thought :)

Thanks Janelle,
The pan was a 15"x12"x3" oblong. The sleeves were extra cake and I carved a slight dip where the neck is to make it less flat.
The birthday girl (all 95 years of her) thought it was a hoot :)

Thank you June. I cut the letters with some cheap plastic alphabet cookie cutters I bought on sale at the supermarket. When I bought them I thought they would be fun for my children to use with playdoh.....they are staying in my cake decorating box now :)

I love how your letters are so nice & crisp.  When I did my "T-shirt/football" cake, I had a heck of time. What I wanted is what you have here.  Just lovely.
