Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

A "mini" cake (4-5-6) I made for my daughter's 19th birthday last year. She likes Koi which are Japanese ornamental fish, symbols of love and friendship, kept in outdoor water gardens and ponds. I used a tribal tattoo style pattern as my template for all the pieces that were hand cut, applied on to the cake surface and then painted. All the decorative accents were made with Mexican Paste II and either dusted with petal dust or painted with gel paste food colors.
