The basket was done in royal icing as this is a dummy cake. Grapes, plums, cherry tomatoes, garlic, cucumber, tablecloth and peppers are all made from fondant. The apple, peach, potatoes, corn, and carrots are formed rice krispy treats and then covered with fondant. Basket handle is made from gum paste. The filler 'straw' packing material is made from fondant that I forced through an extruder. It looked like whole wheat spaghetti until it dried and I broke it up into smaller pieces. I also used some of the faux straw for the end of the garlic. The wood for the table top was 5 different colors of fondant (white, tan, yellow, pumpkin orange and black) that I rolled into long ropes and then rolled it out and stained it with Ever-clear and chocolate brown petal dust. Everything was shaded with petal dust.

It came through fine Linda - thank you very much.
Thank you Rosa. The corn was pretty easy, but time consuming. It was just cereal treats made with marshmallows and formed into what looked like an ear of corn, and yellow fondant covered over the whole thing. Then I covered half of the ear with very small balls of yellow fondant pushed up against each other in rows. Once I was done with that, I rolled out green fondant and used a piece of dried corn husk to give it the right texture, and traced around the husk to form the ones that would wrap around the ear. Once everything had dried pretty good, I took a small ball of the green and formed the end stalk part and gum paste glued it to the bottom.
Beautiful, beautiful!!!! How did you do the corn??????
Katy, did the information come through concerning the handle and tip on the basket? Let me know if it didn't and I'll try to resend it.
Heck Magdalena, I see what you mean! Just did the same thing myself and it's scary how good some one can be....................
My heavens, Magdalene! I never thought my work would be scrutinized so carefully! Now you know why I only made one ear of corn instead of the two I started out with. That darn ear took me forever making each kernel of corn, so my other corn got left to the wayside.
Mandy, You will need to 'friend' me first so that I have a way to connect with the information. I'll send a friend request to you. =O)
Hi Linda, may I please also ask if you would be so kind as to share the info as shared with Kay and June? Thanking you kindly :-)
I enlarged the photo to look at every detail properly. Every kernel on your cob of corn is shaped differently, the courgette had a hairlike substance! Wow, girl your detail is exceptional! The day I can do something even close to this, I will believe that I am an artist baker!
