Scorpion body was vanilla sponge cake, with vanilla butter cream filling, covered with fondant. The tail was made by RCT and inserted into the cake with wooden cocktail sticks.Legs, claws and eyes was made with fondant. (very fragile)

I had my original edible/gumpaste glue for at least 2 yrs. You need so little, it lasts such a long time. I was in a hurry & had none left & didn't want to wait a couple of hrs. for the gumpaste to dissolve. I took a piece of gumpaste & sat it on the counter until it got hard as a rock. Then I put it into my mini chop, a couple of pulses.... ta-da..... itty bitty pieces. Into the bottle with the rum, shake, and within minutes it dissolved. Was ready in about 10 min!!
I am so smart sometimes, it scares me..... hee hee. :0)

June's gumpaste will work I am using the same stuff (mine has vodka) and it works wonders. I just added a bit of warm water to hasten the melting part.

Thanks June - I have glued it, with edible glue, so fingers crossed.  I like the sound of yours though, I might make some of that up for the future. :)

Gumpaste glue Katy.....works WONDERS.  Small bottle about 4 oz., fill 1/2 way with clear alcohol...gin, rum, whatever, good chunk of gumpaste ripped in little pieces into the bottle...shake, shake. Wait a couple of hours..Wala...gumpaste glue.

When I did the cake for my nephew & nieces wedding, I only made one daffodil. When I picked it up to place on the cake...yikes...2 petals fell off. I know it was becasue I used to much alcohol to paint on the lustre dust, so I weakened the original bond. I just re-glued with my gp glue and it was as good as new.

Hope this helps.  :o)
