My 17th cake... 'See you later Alligator'.. Not if I see you first! lol I used one 8" sq. & two 6" rds. to make this guy. Chocolate fudge brownie cake covered with mint flavored marshmallow buttercream. The eyes are melted chocolate, the nostrils are chocolate chips, and the nails & teeth are fondant. I had a chance to try out my new airbrush! I had never used it before, practiced a moment on a paper towel, then went for it! I think it turned out pretty good, got the color I needed without using up all my food coloring trying to get a darkish green buttercream. I crumbled the leftover cake, mixed it with some extra buttercream to make the dirt around the gator, then filled in grass here & there with the extra buttercream. Fondant would probably have made a nicer looking gator, but kids like buttercream better. They ALL came back for seconds on this guy! Went really well with the mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Gee Whizz, & Awww shucks, aint you being sweet to say that?!  It turned out better than I ever hoped, since I have never met a gator up close, or face to face; just a picture of one, and there was no way I could make anything that looked like that! lol

Bonnie, you did a great job on this guy!  Looks like "dirt" to me :o)  Love him!

Thanks, a last minute quicky.  I wanted to do a dragon! But he insisted on a gator!

His mom only put on 4 of his 7 candles, because he was in a hurry!

Thanks guys!  The legs are the corners that I chopped off of the square one, the only pieces I had left large enough to do the legs with.   My son said, 'Now that is a lot of alligator poop!'   I encouraged him to think of it as 'dirt' instead, for consumption purposes. lol
