Isn't it always a relief?  you make these things but have no idea if they're a success until it comes to the crunch.  A scary moment..........

Just got back from the the engagement party. The couple loved the cake.... thank goodness. They both tasted great.. Whew... what a relief. :0)

Well Actually Les I made 2. One from scratch, & one with a doctored mix. I must confess the scratch was denser with a better crumb & mouth feel. I found a couple of recipes on the web, and fiddled with them till I got what I wanted. I am going to post the recipe, but I have been busy. Someone else also wants my lemon meringue pie/never fail meringue recipe as well.  Have made a note to myself so I can sit down next week & fire them out.   :o)
