Elmo is made from rice kristy treats. I shaped body, head, legs and arms and let them firm overnight. His legs were bent over the edge of a cake pan to help hold the shape while drying. After drying overnight, I put his body and head on a skewer then added arms and legs (using toothpicks to secure) and then coated him with melted white chocolate to help "glue" everything together and make him a little more sturdy. Once the chocolate was firm and buttercream crusted I set him on top and then covered with red using the grass tip or star tip. I've used both several times - the star tip is easier to work especially if you are using buttercream to cover him.
