Elizabeth - Pikmin Game 8-2013
All I know is that the little yellow character is from a Nintendo game, he is a "pikmin". He is gum paste but would not stand up (even with wires in him, inserted into cake inside coffee stirrer straws) so the red you see behind him is a straw holding him up.

Lovely cake. Lydia, I had the same trouble with my Easy Crew characters. Thought I would go mad with frustration. I ended up doing the same as you - sticks behind them to hold them up! I think it's putting them into buttercream that's the problem. It just softens and doesn't hold the way sugarpaste does.
