Crikey - that was a lot of work! It shows, too
Thanks.
I looked at a lot of pics of sphinx on line. For body, I shaped a rice crispy treat into a log & added the front legs. Then rolled out a sheet of thick fondant that I laid on top & smoothed over it. used art spatula to push in fondant for front paws. Back legs formed by rolling a log with one end bigger like a bulb. Smashed bulb for hip then bent log for leg. Same spautla technique for paw. Head was tricky. I took a Barbie doll head and made a silicone mold. Then played with the head using a smoothing tool to try to get a manly shape. Head dress is 2 pieces. Firt a band around the forhead then a fondant drape over that (kind of an oval piece that I cut a long arch shape out of-thats what goes on each side of face). Then I just pinched & played till it came together. Attached head to body with a toothpick then airbrushed gold. Attached ears, chin beard piece & little fob on forehad & tail.
The sphinx is great - did you make it?
