This was my first topsy turvy cake using the tilted tier method. It was also one of the first times I've used an airbrush (on the board). The flowers and buds were made with gumpaste. I used Joshua John Russell's woven texture for the top tier, and the elephant was sculpted from modeling chocolate. Bottom tier was double chocolate fudge cake with white chocolate ganache and mini m&m filling. Top tier was white vanilla cake with the same filling. Both cake were covered in Liz Marek's (Artisan Cake Co.) fondant.

Very nice...I like the textured top tier and especially the adorable little elephant!
Thank you Miss Bonnie. I've been using the new Wilton fondant in my LMF since it was first introduced. So far, the only change I've noticed is that when making it, I only need to add about a teaspoon of water instead of the two tablespoons she calls for in her recipe. It seems to work just the same and covers my cakes just as beautifully!
And you have a really snazzy cake here! luv it!!
Misty, I have a question. Now that Wilton has changed their fondant, I have heard that it is not anywhere near as good as it was before, so if this is true, how does the new stuff work in Liz's LMF? That was her 'secret' ingredient, because it worked! So does it still work? Have you noticed any change in how well it performs? Just really, really curious! I have 1 box of the old Wilton fondant left, and have not purchased any of the new yet.
Pretty cake...
Cute as can be :o)
