I have just learned by checking out books at the library. Confetti cakes has a couple of great books for learning techniques and how to put together the figures, as well as cakes. Debbie Brown's enchanted cakes has some great ideas for figures also. These bunnies were the first thing I have done like this. The bodies are shaped rice krispy treats covered with fondant. Fondant works really well for creating a fabric look. Don't be afraid to experiment. You never know what you will come up with. I just look around the kitchen to see what I can use to make shapes or textures.
