You already knew so much about roses, knew you would make beautiful ones.

And JUNE, your 'I done ate too much....don't need no more.....', is an everyday occurance around here, so I feel that way every time I leave the table! lol

Yes Bonnie ...this truly is a Betty cake...perfect. Colour, flowers...weaving...all so beautifully done. I've had waaaaay too much cake (and pumpkin pie) in the last 2 wks....especially over this past thanksgiving wknd. That's one of the reason I chose to make a dummy cake.... I done ate too much....don't need no more.....

Definitely a 'Betty' type cake.  Neat & proper!  Colors all go together, must be the artist in you.  Perfectly sized & spaced reverse shells.  Very neat, & precise, basket weave.  The roses, buds, leaves, and other top trim, are beautiful.  And you can pipe readable words!   Yup, I think we had better keep you around!  For inspiration! LOL

LOL - well, June and Maria, I am a lot closer than I was :o)  I do love a nicely piped cake and will keep practicing.  Thank you both!

Thank you, thank you, everyone!  As I told Gali, I practiced and practiced before I was able to make a rose that didn't look like a puddle.  And, if you have not tried it, basket weave is a very forgiving technique.  It was far, far from perfect, but the horizontal "weave" hid most of the crooked vertical parts.
