Cake is two layer chocolate sour cream cake using a 6 inch round pan and one of the pans from the ball pan set. The red leaves on the side are made from a mixture of modeling chocolate and fondant/gum paste mix. The 'cake stand' is actually a candle holder that holds a votive cup but my husband cut out my plate from wood and then glued 2 round pieces of 1inch pine in the center that fit snugly into the hole where the votive cup would normally fit. The hat itself is covered in half gum paste half fondant mix. The rose is black fondant dusted with a gray/super pearl luster dust mix. Thank you for looking.

This is my choice for best hat! :)
Oooooh, Hobby Lobby is dangerous! :) and awesome, lol.
Hobby Lobby-90% off! Whoo hoo!
Your welcome! That's awesome, I never would have thought to use a fork for that. I've used the handle end of a fork before, was a perfect size for parts of the Halo cake I made for ym nephew. Thank you for sharing! That candle holder looks almost like some I got from Pier 1 about 16 years ago!
Aww, thank you Tami. I was trying to give it that crisp stiff look. I used a kitchen fork.
Absolutely gorgeous! The rose looks like leather! I think my favorite part is the brim. I love it.
hahaha! At first I thought maybe it was one of the maids...but I don't think they would have had bling on their hats.
Love this series... Watch every Sunday Night!
I can see Lady Mary wearing this one.
