Cake is two layer chocolate sour cream cake using a 6 inch round pan and one of the pans from the ball pan set. The red leaves on the side are made from a mixture of modeling chocolate and fondant/gum paste mix. The 'cake stand' is actually a candle holder that holds a votive cup but my husband cut out my plate from wood and then glued 2 round pieces of 1inch pine in the center that fit snugly into the hole where the votive cup would normally fit. The hat itself is covered in half gum paste half fondant mix. The rose is black fondant dusted with a gray/super pearl luster dust mix. Bling is from CK products. Thank you for looking.

Not at all! Someone on CC said that period hats from the 20s was supposed to be a new thing in cakes. I haven't seen too many so far, so I'm not sure if they were just talking or what. I can't wait to see what you come up with. =O)

I never have seen that movie...just the previews. (It would have to be a movie I went to with my lady friends because if it doesn't have action in it, my husband won't go! lol Typical man!).

Thank you Shirley. I don't wear hats either. I would look like a clown in one. Our cake show is going to be in September and I have been toying with the idea of making several (at least 3) different styles of hats and have it set up like a millinery shop all on the hat stands and staggered. Maybe a pair of gloves and a purse sitting with. What do you think?
