Isn´t that sweet? That he wanted the face just for him? You must have felt very pleased! Thas was a great technique you did with the skin of the cake, you really did a great job on this one. Every detail is perfect.
I used to make my partner a little cake every time I baked! He loves it when I have to carve cakes like this one because he gets to eat all the bits that come off.
I piped the royal icing onto the toes to make the toe nails. For the skin I mixed green and brown food colouring with tequilla before painting it on with a wide brush. I was pleased with the way it turned out. His cute face was a big hit with the birthday boy. He kept kissing it on the nose and then insisted that only he could eat the head!
Thank you Violet, you know he loves meringue and cakes so when I´m baking I have to make sure I save some of it for him because he loves sweets. The toe nails look great, did you brush them with the rolyal icing? I love the way the skin of your dinosaur looks. Its face is very friendly.
It was great fun. My favourite bit was the toe nails! They were the last thing I did.
Your dinosaur cup cakes are beautiful. Your grandson is very lucky :)
I bet it was a lot of fun, I made dinosaur cup cakes for my grandson´s 1st b-day and I really enjoyed it.
