cushion cake
This was my first attempt at a cushion cake. It was for my friends wee girl, they both loved it. I carved this cake myself (following an online tutorial) which I found to be quite challenging but loved seeing it starting to take shape...It was vanilla sponge completely covered in dark chocolate ganache. The swirl design was an embossed sheet that I pressed into the sugarpaste. The crown is just a wee toy that was store bought. I then attempted to airbrush the cake using a pearl pink colour.

I have never made a pillow cake. Always wanted to. Had no occasion to do so.
They look romantic to me. :0)
