Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Thanks you Darlene for asking me to make these red velvet and butter cake with cream cheese butter cream frosting. The cupcakes were added to the Wilton Petal cupcake cups. This time the flowers were hand piped in royal icing, something I haven't done in quite some time. Thanks for Looking!

Sorry, I forgot to mention, using corn syrup to thin down your royal icing does wonders for keeping your rose petal edges smooth. Add 1 tablespoon at a time to thin down RI to the desired consistency.

Thank you for your wonderful comments. This type of rose was the only kind I knew how to make for years and years.  Since discovering fondant and gumpaste in the last year in a half, I really haven't piped many flowers. I'm surprised!

Love your roses.  My RI roses never came out nice.
