I used icing images for the badges, fondant for the tent, and buttercream for everything else.

Well I did two cakes for a baby shower here at the office, one cake was one of those mixes without wheat /flour/gluten for the mom to be who is wheat intolerant, and the other was a vanilla sponge for the other guests, and both cakes I covered with this most delicious creamy yummy frosting (still got enough left at home for about a dozen cup cakes or something (like a finger or two...) ) and the ladies cannot stop raving about the cakes, but mostly the frosting - so indeedio, its reason to smile :-) thank you again - can't wait to try out the two tone now :-)
Your poem made me smile. I'm so glad that the recipe worked well with your ingredients.
Oh Frostine what a dream,
to make your buttercream,
it tastes so light and yummy,
adding inches to my tummy,
but I care not one iota,
adding this one to my rota,
it's a winning re-ci-pe,
gonna make my clients happy :-)
thanku Frostine - you such a clever thing you! Can't wait to try out allllll your clever little tricks and especially the two tone top and your yummy sounding butter cream - for a long time I have been making my buttercream with a local brand of margarine (south africa) and adding plain yoghurt as my "milk" to try and lessen the sweetness, but I am going to give your recipe a go for sure - will use our local brand of "wooden spoon" - a white margarine - not sure of the trans fats but worth giving it a go = and I will certainly give you feedback. So good to find your blog - very helpful indeed :-)
Hi Mandy,
You can find info on how to make the two toned buttercream here

Here is info on how I make my buttercream smooth.http://www.thatreallyfrostsme.com/2010/04/smooth-buttercream-frosti...
Hope that helps!
I love the way you have the blue and green - how do you achieve that? THis is such a cute idea for a cake - also your buttercream, do you need to make a very firm buttercream to smooth it like this? And how do you get it so smooth? It looks like fondant - really well done. Thank you for sharing :-)
Hello m.r.jensen,
Thank you for the comment. To answer your question, I do not own an edible printer. I had these icing images printed at my local grocery store.
I 'm from Canada & I have taught Cubs for 24 + years & counting. At the present time I have 11 boys.
I loved your cake. We have 62 or 63 badges in our program, so we would have to have a large cake to fit them all on. I would have to do FBCT because I haven't got an edible printer. What brand printer do you have?
