I completely understand. When someone calls and asks for a sheet cake I pretty much tell them to go to the local grocery store and have one "written" on. They will get it much cheaper than I am willing to make it for. We stay busy enough that we are able to do that. If they are willing to pay the price then I will make them whatever they want but I do prefer the sculpted cakes. Thanks for all of the kind words. It makes me realize I am doing what I am supposed to do in this world. I am an accountant by trade and just quit my job when I realized I really don't like to crunch numbers.

very cool cakes! you do a great job! wish more people in my area would order these 3D birthdays, but wedding cakes are my bread and butter. Most here won't put out any $ for birthday cakes. They want a simple sheet cake with something drawn on- and lots of times they baulk at the price of that. Fondant is usually only used on wedding cakes, and they have to fall in love with the look of it! If it can be duplicated in buttercream, they choose to go that route. I could possible do more of this style, if I choose to give them away..HA!HA! [not gonna happen!] Love your work!
