Actually, Anne, on this cake the basket weave in the back tapers down to the corner also. What I did was one complete row all the way around the cake at the bottom. On the second row, I start at corner one and skip or indented one basket weave space (I hope that makes sense). I followed the second row around corner two and ended one basket weave space short on corner three. Then I picked up the second row again on the other side of corner three skipping one basket weave space and continued around corner four. I ended the second row with one space short at the other side of corner one. I then completed around the cake decreasing one space from the previous row at the start and finish of corners three and one. I hope this makes sense. It's a lot harder to write out than it is to show or tell. Thank you so much for your kind comment. I hope this helps.
This is beautiful Jama, i would love io try it one day. So u start with one line of baket weave and increase it by one till u reach the top, am I right?
