Beautiful. The colour came out amazing. I also want to know what did you use for the stem and leaves ?

Maria,

 

For coloring the rose, I made the gum paste for the center petals a brick red using quite a bit of color and for the outside ones a lighter red color.  The reason for this is that is is really difficult to dust the inside petals and to make them look real they need to have deep color all the way down into the shadows.  Once it was dry I dusted it with a burgundy petal dust and then came back and highlighted here and there on petal edges with a red shimmer dust.  The burgundy dust combined with the underlying gum paste colors neutralized the purple tinge to burgundy and came out with the ruby red result.
