nope, its much better if you use an excato knife, dont cut out the stencil completely first, its easier if you have something to hold onto while pressing it on the fondant, it'll be cut eventually anyways,

that's a smart idea! I've only ever done that once and it took some time to cut out the stencil frst then do the fondant

nope actually i used a stencil to make those letters, just printed them out and placed it on top of a black fondant. and they came out like that,, had to measure them though,, i used a different stencil on the letterings below..

lovely!! the cake looks so good! how did you write the name Marlboro on the cake? is that royal icing?
