Was an absolute glorious day for my son and brides wedding. Beautiful weather….perfect day.
As bride Megan requested, a very small wedding cake, two 6/3" semi-naked cakes. They were citrus flavoured victoria sponge with orange liqueur flavoured bc in between. Colour scheme was pinks & beiges. Bottom double barrel tier was 2 cake dummies. Cake was decorated in a rustic theme with emphasis on burlap, since the wedding venue was in a converted barn. Cake board was pink coloured gumpaste resembling wood grain. Flowers were a keepsake…made from coffee filter papers and clay craft clay.
I made 4 little flower pots covered in burlap ribbon and added the sign language letters for L O V E. Used drywall compound dyed pink to pipe into the pots. Put little black gumpaste hearts on the front of the pots with corresponding chalkboard letters. This was to include Megan’s parents who are deaf, and the many deaf relatives attending….including there culture into the wedding. The picture is a bit dark, as is the whole cake table, as I only had time for a quick pic before heading home after set up, to get changed and return.

looks beautiful.  Such and unusual style for a wedding cake and it worked brilliantly.
