Thx for the compliments, the strings are grey fondant cut thin with a pizza cutting wheel, not as hard as it sounds. I was going to use a clay extruder if that didnt work. the upper part is rice krispie treats on a 1/4" MDF board that I cut  to that shape, the head is the same except that I used hot glue to glue it at the angle I needed. That part has dowels underneath holding it up to create air space. I have a pic that might show it I will post it.

Great Job!   I'm thinking about making a guitar cake for my son's godfather next month.   Could you tell me what did you make the strings out?
