Gail, this kind of piping would actually hold up better if it were royal icing, but it's just butter cream and since it is layered, it's pretty fragile when you pick up the cake. Pieces can pop off. Do you have a hard time because of your challenge with MS, or do you just have issues with piping? You amaze me with your sculpting. I have never even tried a sculpted cake. This cake actually only took me about an hour to decorate. The flowers were already made and were actually the poppies that were meant for that white frilled wedding cake, but too many had broken so I went with white roses. I figured why not use them now?
