Your cake IS stunning Melanie.

I made hydrangeas for a baby shower cake. GRrrrr, like you say Melanie....so pretty ready to adorn the cake. I had them on so beautifully, and with the drive to the house to deliver & setup.....a few petals broke, and the whole flower started to separate from the cake.  Made 2 deadly mistakes. Didn't bring extra flowers with me. Didn't use royal icing to secure them.  Had to set up quik & off to the church for the christening.

Your hydrangeas are just outstanding.

Lol Katy! I hear that in my house too! I love making flowers, but it is about the most frustrating thing when you've made them and dusted them and then go to put them together, and break break break! Ahhh! So frustrating! All in the job though, lol! I have another wedding cake this coming weekend with lots of flowers, lol!

I'm with everyone that the flower is incredible.  I am with Katy on the flower breakage.

Melanie, I know how frustrating that must have been for you, but secretly, I am very pleased to hear it.  That means it's not just me that has that problem, although I am about as clumsy and ham fisted as they come.  Hubby says I'm an accident waiting to happen...............

The hydrangea individual flowers were easy and fun to make. I'm glad I made lots of extras though, I bet 1/2 the flowers on the cake are missing a petal, lol. It was hard to put it together without tons of them breaking. Thank you everybody for your nice words, I appreciate it :)

I'm with Goreti on this one.....stunning! And I absolutely love how you have done all of those pearls, and added the multiple ones that look like buttons. That is what sets the whole thing off in my book.

This is so awesome.  I was going to give hydrangeas a try but don't think I could ever make them turn out like this!
