Carboot is mainly in the UK...I think you might be referring to ebay...where everything is that is for sale is...

I've been buying my pans from retail stores like Wal-Mart or Michael's Crafts Store. Right now I'm starting out and mainly my "orders" have been a 8-9in round cake. I've been stiffed a few times in which I've learned to get paid before I make the cake.

The current cake that I am doing is for my husband's board meeting on Thursday. I have class tonight on making different royal icing flowers then this next Monday a 2 tier cake. When hubby takes the cake to work for the board meeting I'm hoping that someone will consider ordering a cake from me in which I can buy the right size pan for that order and charge appropriately. I can't seem to find anyone who's selling their pans second hand...

Lauri, do you know I still buy cake tins from carboot sales(do they have them in the US) the old tins are the best! I have a 16 year old student that does work experience with me once a week and she's bought all her tins second hand!

Wow! I'm so far away from being able to do anything like this! OMG! You've got talent! Even Kathy's cakes are much better then mine...I don't have all the cake pans I need to do what I'd like to....

Hi Geisel, yes I handpainted it, the stone affect was achieved by painting the cake with a weak brown colour then with scrunched up kitchen paper I dabed the cake to get the affect then hand painted the stones in .
