Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

These are all the flowers I practiced on these last few days. I'll use them on cupcakes or wherever, but I just had to try out a few techniques. Please feel free to criticize but I would appreciate some tips to better myself.

Thanks for that - I wonder if maybe I don't knead it enough (lazy girl lol!)

I use fondant with cmc. I think the secret is to knead it very well. Until it makes a SNAP sound when pulled apart. It is more difficult in the cold winter, because the fondant hardens, then I pop it in the microwave for a second or two.

Magdalena, I am not a flower expert by the biggest stretch of the imagination, so I'm going to leave the tips to the experts.  But I think these are extremely good - they look like carnations, are beautifully formed and I would have been more than happy to produce them myself.  Well done!!!!  Tell me, do you use gumpaste or do you make your own from fondant and cmc or tylose or whatever.  You seem to have no tears in your flowers, which is usually what happens to me when I make my own...
