Fist of all I use Serious Cakes buttercream recipe. It's mostly butter with only 2/3 cup Crisco. I use a warm spatula to smooth it the best I can and then I use the Viva paper towel method to smooth it the rest of the way. How do you get your buttercream soo smooth? I'm having issues with mine not being as smooth as I'd like it & then it seperates quite often so in my bags I can see all the white spots of crisco, very frustrating
