Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I chose the peacock theme and printed my pages on edible images using the edible ink. There were a total of 15 masks around the cake in different sizes and shapes within the theme and colors of the peacock. Accents were piped with royal icing and painted with gold lustre dust, gold highlighter and disco dust. The board is covered with fondant and trimmed with glass beads and trim. Gems are made of blue Isomalt.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the bigger masks after they were dry, were also covered in the sugar sheets, so that the colors and the theme would stay consistent, then piped, embellished, painted and dusted. For the peacock feathers on the top mask, I used a rose cutter and took it from there. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone. I have been using my printer quite a bit recently, just trying new ideas and techniques. Melanie, for this cake a lot of the molds are from 'First Impression' and I know I also here and there I used 'Earlene Moore'. Sometimes I take a mold and add to it or take away and replace with something else to give it a little more character. I genuinely feel that the molds, colors and the cake itself talks to you as you figure it out. Call me crazy!
