I chose the peacock theme and printed my pages on edible images using the edible ink. There were a total of 15 masks around the cake in different sizes and shapes within the theme and colors of the peacock. Accents were piped with royal icing and painted with gold lustre dust, gold highlighter and disco dust. The board is covered with fondant and trimmed with glass beads and trim. Gems are made of blue Isomalt.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL...

Although this photo is much better than what I attained with my camera, the photo still does not do it justice. The colors were absolutely phenomenal in person! Stunningly beautiful cake!
Congratulations Amita, on your first place win at Florida ICED!!! Love the peacock choice…STUNNING!!
Thank you, Anita, for your insight. The cake was simply gorgeous.
Linda, try working with fresh sheets. The longer they sit, the dryer they get. When not working, keep them in a sealed, air-tight envelope. I do not like to print my sheets too much ahead of time especially if I am covering a large area. I just gently put the sheets on the masks using crisco. With crisco I can move and slide. I have a window of time. Once attached, I cut around the mask with a pair of scissors or an exacto knife. Never have had an issue. Then I piped with royal icing, painted, glittered and added Isomalt gems. I have been lucky to have a teacher, George Reese from Cake etc. in West Palm Beach who has taken my skill of understanding the edible sheets and the cricut to a whole new level. The fear is long gone. I experiment a lot. I painted gold streaks on the edible sheets in the bottom tier to highlight the peacocl feathers. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask anything. I am a begining professional. Cake friends have taught me a lot and I'd love to give back is some way.
Wow this is amazing!
