Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

This was a two layer full sheet cake that I made for a friend whose mother just passed away and they wanted to thank the staff who had been taking care of her at a nursing home. Half is chocolate and the other half is white cake. In the picture it doesn't look that big, but it is 8 cake mixes and weighs a ton. Most everything is butter cream icing but the oval insert is fondant as are the molds on the bottom of the oval.

Thank you Luz.....nothing overly fancy, but I know they wanted it to just be tasteful, and not over the top.

Wow Linda.  Your hand & wrist must have been killing you after all the piping on this extra large cake. It looks so beautiful.
