Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Cake central sent me a couple of photos of this dress by Stella McCartney. The spec was fashion and how to it inspires cake creation. Here you see some of the ideas I came up with. Although I liked the blue versions, I wanted it be a bit different from that original dress colour and settled on the gold, white and black.
I asked myself, what was it about this dress that made it? The cutout shapes, the wavy hemline, the different size version of the pattern.
I had intended on cutting the 'flower' shapes with my cricut, but it went to be with baby Jesus THAT day so I had to cut them all using a square cutter and a round cutter!
I piped the paisley shape, well several of them to be precise, just in case of breakages, and made the scalloped 'waves' to resemble applique.
Each 'flower' was outlined in gold with a gold centre, repeating the pattern style from the dress.
This cake too, has a wavy hemline, one in black and one in white, as well as being an asymmetrical design.
