tiara and jewels are all edible. Scrollwork is hand-painted. The only inedible items are the sceptor stick (with ribbon) and the wires connecting the jewels at the corners.

thanks for that detailed description Misty. It is worth the extra effort to have made it yourself rather than a store bought plastic ornament.  Could you put a description under your photo so that people can know straightaway that you have made everything edible and gone to such effort without them having to scroll down here to the comments to read it when they vote favorites.  Anyway, whether they do see that or not, you have made a really lovely cake that is really so neatly executed!

Forgot to add, I put on the dragees while the second layer of royal was still wet.  Some of them didnt stick and I had to go back and use some more royal.

To make the crown, I simply tape a template to the outside of an empty coffee can making sure to smooth out any wrinkles.  Then I taped a piece of wax paper over the template (large enough to cover the entire template and then a little extra) again smoothing out any wrinkles.  At this point I trace over the template with royal icing.  Allow to dry 24 hrs, then trace again with royal. (You can also use chocolate, but it tends to be much more difficult to remove from the can without messing up the tiara.) allow to dry AT LEAST 24 hrs again. Then cut wax paper away from can and GENTLY remove paper from tiara.  I like to let the tiara dry an additional 12 hrs after removing from the can just to be safe.  I'll try to find the template I created and post here soon.

Very nice cake. Did you make the crown yourself? Would be nice to have a description to include that if you did :-)
