Hi Tracy, I use 1 egg white, 1 cup of icing sugar, 2tsp cmc or tylose or gum arabic (not sure what you use). Mix this until it thickens. Rub holcim margarine thickly onto your hands and work it through until its a smooth, tight elastic texture. You can rub more holcim onto your hands if needed. Let it set for a while, maybe an hour or two, before using.
You can also add to a cup of fondant, 1and a half tsp cmc or tylose or gum arabic. Work through with holcim and store overnight before use. I just find that the first option sets better, the second option remains white and the 1st option becomes creamy in colour.
I stored it in my oven with the door open and the oven light switched on in order to dry. We had a lot of rain lately and the air was very dampy. This helped a great deal.

are the butterflies fondant or royal icing? im doing a baby shower cake in a few weeks and was trying to figure out which would be better. i saw yours and the looked so pretty, so simple.
