thanks so much for the tips will definitely try it out. and compact it. This is going to be so interesting
Once you get the hang of it you will wonder why you never did it sooner! I love working with the medium and it also gives a bit of flexibility when it comes to designing stuff that normal cake wont really hold up to. You might find in your part of the world you need a bit more or less of the rice crispies - oh yes, really compress your creation well and if necessary, reinforce with internal dowel stick/s - I made a rapunzel castle and the jolly thing kept toppling of the "storybook" cake - eish, such a disappointment for me :-(
awesme thanks I am definitely going to give it a bash!
3 T butter or marg
286g regular marshmallows
6 cups rice crispies
melt butter in micro, add marshmallows, cook on 100 % power till melted (about 2.5 minutes) then stir till marshmallows are all a soft gooey mess and then stir in the rice crispies. In summer I omit the butter because of our high humidity - then I leave it in a covered bowl till it cools somewhat and with holsum covered hands I remove from bowl and start to shape it - quite sticky to start with but you will soon tame the tiger!!!! Good luck :-)
Mandy do you a cereal treat recipe you can share? I've never used it before. ever
lovely!!
Not at all - I only used a beerbox cake and then cereal treats for the feet and head, and with the cut out bits I made cake ball mix and used that as my "building material" to add all the built up accents etc. - another fun project and one I hope to re-visit again :-)
Great job Mandy. My grandson would love it. Was it very difficult?.
